NGauge Forms

NGauge Forms are your interface with any file-based datasource in Infoveave. Any file-based datasource in Infoveave may have its records managed using NGauge forms. Using NGauge forms, you can update or edit the table in a file-based datasource.

2. Create NGauge Forms

Steps to Create an NGauge Forms

  1. To create NGauge form in Infoveave over any existing Datasources, click on Studio NGauge Forms.
    • All NGauge Forms, created by you or shared with you will be displayed under the tabs My NGauge Forms and Shared NGauge Forms respectively.
  1. To formulate a fresh formula, click on New NGauge Form.
  2. Enter the NGauge Form Name.
  3. Select the Datasource you want to use from the drop-down and click Add.
  1. Select the Datasource Table from the table dropdown.
  2. Provide a name for the NGauge form.
  3. Choose an icon to represent the NGauge form.
  4. Check the Read Only checkbox if you want to make the form read-only, restricting user editing.
  5. Check the Is Advanced checkbox if you want to enable advanced options.
  6. Check the Load Only When Filters Applied checkbox if you want to load data only when filters are applied. Useful for improving performance when dealing with large datasets.
  7. Check the After Submit Navigate to Add Screen checkbox if you want to navigate directly to add data, once the NGauge form is saved.
  8. Select the dimension on which edit is disabled with the Disable Edit On option.
  1. Select the row editor type from the available options of In-line New Screen, and Pop-up.
    • It helps to decide the way new rows can be added to the Datasource.
  2. Click on Actions to define the NGauge default permissions.
  3. Check the necessary options you want to offer in the NGauge form.
    • Add: Check this option to enable users to add new entries to the NGauge form.
    • Edit: Check this option to allow users to edit existing entries within the NGauge form.
    • Delete: Enable this option to permit users to delete individual entries from the form.
    • Delete All: By selecting this option, users gain the ability to delete all entries present in the NGauge form.
    • Download: Activate this option to provide users with the capability to download associated data or reports.
    • Data Upload: Select this option to enable users to upload data into the NGauge form from external sources.
    • Form Submit: Check this option to grant users the ability to submit the form data for further processing.
  4. Choose a task or job from the dropdown list and click Add to include them in the NGauge form.
  5. Click Save to save the default permissions.
  1. Configure the NGauge form columns (measures and dimensions) using the provided options:
    • Is Required: Checkbox Option
      • Determine whether the measure or dimension is required by checking the Is Required checkbox. When enabled, users will be prompted to provide a value for this field before proceeding.
    • Is Disabled: Checkbox Option
      • If you want to prevent users from interacting with a specific measure or dimension, check the Is Disabled checkbox. This is useful for fields that might not be applicable in certain contexts.
    • Is Searchable: Checkbox Option
      • Enhance user convenience by enabling the Is Searchable checkbox. This allows users to search for and locate specific values within the measure or dimension.
    • Visible: Checkbox Option
      • Control the visibility of the measure or dimension by toggling the Visible checkbox. When unchecked, the field will not be displayed on the NGauge form.
    • Height and Width
      • Specify the desired height and width for the measure or dimension. This influences the visual layout of the NGauge form.
    • Display Name
      • Provide a display name for the NGauge form columns (measure and dimension). This name will be visible to users on the form.
    • Type: For Dimension Value and Measure
      • Choose the appropriate field type based on whether you are configuring a dimension value or a measure:
        • For Dimension Value:
          • Select from options such as text, text area, radio, drop-down, master data (if selected, further options for Datasource and dimension become available), rich text editor, and markdown.
        • For Measure:
          • Choose from options like integer, decimal, slider, radio, drop-down, and master data (if selected, further options for Datasource and dimension become available).
    • Options
      • Depending on the selected type, provide relevant options for the field. For instance, if you select a drop-down or radio button, input the available choices. For master data options, link the field to a specific data source and dimension.
    • Code: (Enabled for Master Data Columns)
      • If you choose a master data type for the column, the “Code” section will be enabled. Here, you can define custom code associated with the master data, enhancing its behavior and interaction.
  2. Click on Save to save the NGauge form.
