The section provides you with comprehensive guidance and support on how to select the Infoboard template to showcase the data. This template selection process ensures that you can kickstart your Infoboard to resonates with your data storytelling goals.
2. Select Infoboard Template
Infoboard template ensures that you can quickly kickstart your Infoboard creation that resonates with your data storytelling goals.
Let us explore on selecting a new Infoboard template from Insights.
Click on Insights from the Infoveave menu.
Click on Create Infoboard. It opens up the collection of ready to use templates.
Note
Please note that you can also select templates from the 'Quick Start' or 'Infoboard' sections.
To choose a template browse a selection of templates organized by functionality.
Hover over a template description icon to see a description.
Click on the preview icon on the template to live preview the Infoboard.
Click on the Use this Template button to set the selected template as the foundation for your Infoboard.
To create your design from scratch, start with a blank canvas under the tab Blank Template.
Choose between a Designer Canvas Layout and a Grid Layout. Select the one that aligns with your preferred starting point.
Give your template a descriptive and meaningful name.
Click the Save button to save your template.
You will be redirected to the View mode of the template.
Note
The saved template will be available under InsightsMy WorkspaceCreated by Me.
Click on the Edit icon to begin editing your template.
Start customizing and adding your data to the template to showcase your information.
Drag and drop the required widget to the designer from the Component panel.
Note
When using blank template, you are instantly directed to the Designer canvas.
When using a template, you are the redirected to the template View mode.
Setup the Infoboard as required, under the Setup tab under Configuration panel.
Select the appropriate date range for your Infoboard to define the time frame for your data. You can choose from several options, including:
Default: The date range is determined automatically based on the available dataset.
Years, Quarters, Months, Weeks, Days: Specify a fixed date range.
No Date: Choose this option if your Infoboard doesn’t require date-related information.
Use the dropdown menu to select relevant jobs that will be associated with this Infoboard.
Choose the aspect ratio that suits your design, such as 16:9, 4:3, or a custom size.
If you select Custom Size, enter the desired width and height values.
Applying changes will automatically adjust the Infoboard’s dimensions..
To configure the Datasource, click on Add New Source button under Sources.
This will allow you to select the Infoboard source for your widgets
Choose to configure from the below three Infoboard sources options:
Start with Existing Datasource:
This option lets you select from existing Datasources that contain relevant data for your Infoboard.
Choose the appropriate Datasource from the available list to incorporate data into your widgets.
Start with Query:
Click the Use Query button to create a custom SQL query for your data.
Provide a name for the query for easy identification.
Select the Datasource on which the SQL query should be executed.
Compose the SQL query, specifying SELECT statements, conditions, joins, and necessary clauses.
Execute the SQL query by clicking the Run icon and save the query by clicking OK.
Start with Raw Data:
Click on Use Data to set up your Infoboard using raw data from an Excel file.
Provide a name for the source for easy reference.
Paste the raw Excel data from your source file into the designated area within the setup.
Click the Show Table icon to generate a table from the pasted raw data.
Save the raw data source by clicking the OK button.

To configure widgets on the Designer canvas, select the desired widget.
Click on Configuration tab and configure the available fields.
NoteConfiguration may vary depending on the type of widget. Common fields used for configuring widgets include:
Datasources: Select the appropriate Datasource for the widget.
Value: Specify the value or measure to be displayed in the widget.
Axis: Configure the axis settings for the widget (e.g., X-axis, Y-axis).
Group: Define grouping options for the widget to categorize data.
Date: If applicable, set the date or time range for the widget.
Other specific fields: Depending on the widget type, there may be additional fields specific to that widget (e.g., Size, Dimension, Rows, and Columns).
To format the Measure, click on the gear icon positioned next to the measure.
Provide a suitable name for the measure.
Specify the quantity or unit associated with the measure.
Add a prefix if required.
Choose the desired format from options like Auto, %, and None.
Set the precision level for decimal places.
Include a suffix if necessary.
To format the Dimension, click on the gear icon positioned next to the dimension and rename your dimension filed.
To format the Date Dimension, click on the gear icon positioned next to the date dimension.
Specify the name for the date dimension.
Choose the order date for the dimension.
Select the appropriate calendar type, such as Default, FY Calendar, or Custom Calendar.
Set the level of granularity for the date dimension, including options like Default, Year, Quarter, Month, Week, or Day.
Define the label format for the date dimension.
To add Drill Down filters, click on the Drill Down option in the Filter Configuration panel.
Click on the Add Drill Level button to add a new drill down level.
The configuration for each drill down level is similar to the Datasource configuration.
You must choose different measures and dimensions to analyze data at each level.
Note
Please note that the drill down feature is widget specific.
Note that the Datasource itself cannot be changed for the drill down levels.
You can have up to 2 drill down levels for your analysis.
To add fixed filters, locate the section, and click on + Add Filter, which allows you to add dimension filters and measure filters to the widget.
To configure a dimension filter:
Select the desired dimension from the available options.
Choose the condition that best suits your filtering requirement (e.g., “are,” “are not,” “in,” “not in”).
Enter the dimension value that you want to filter by.
To configure a measure filter:
Select the desired measure from the available options.
Choose the condition that defines how the measure should be compared (e.g., “greater than,” “less than,” “greater than or equal to,” “less than or equal to,” “equals to”).
If the value condition is selected:
Enter the specific value that the measure should be compared against.
If the measure condition is selected:
Select the other measure from the available options that the current measure will be compared with.
If you need to add multiple measure filters, you can repeat the above steps to configure additional measure filters. The AND/OR condition option will appear, allowing you to choose whether all the filters should match (AND) or at least one filter should match (OR).
Save or apply the changes to the widget configuration.
To customize the widget, select the widget you want to customize on the designer canvas.
Explore the available customization options, which include:
Styling: Adjust colors, fonts, borders, styles and backgrounds.
Labeling: Modify labels and captions.
Interactivity: Enable or disable tooltips and click-actions.
To edit labels Axis Name, Value, or Label, click on the Label button under each customization tab.
The main functionalities available for customization include:
Font Size: Adjust the size of the font used for the name, value, or label to ensure optimal visibility and legibility.
Font Style: Choose from a variety of font styles to align the text with your desired design aesthetics and overall visual theme.
Alignment: Customize the alignment of the name, value, or label to control their positioning within the widget, whether it be left, center, or right alignment.
Click on Save to save the widget’s appearance and behavior.
Click on the view icon to View the dashboard.
Tip
To rename the axes, series or values, delete the default option and replace it with the desired text.
