Utility Task

Utility tasks define those automation tasks created for the replacing the human interfaces to perform the actions like sending regular notifications, emails, cleaning cache memory and priming.

In Infoveave the following tasks are grouped as the Utility Task. 

Create a Utility Task

Steps to build a utility task in Infoveave.

  1. To create any data task select Task from Automation Tasks .
  2. Click New to setup a new task.  
  1. Pick a utility task, from the drop-down list and click OK.

How to build different utility tasks is covered in the section below.

You may configure the task setting either as a plain text or in JSON format.

Notification Task

Notification Task is used to perform or sent notification messages whenever any other task will occur. It is used to sent notification as an update to the user whenever task gets started and ends.

  1. If you want to send notification whenever task started or ends to a certain user,
    • Add the notification content.
    • Select user from existing user list.
    • Choose to have the notification by email and mobile.

  1. Click Save to save configuration of Notification task. It will display all other types of existing tasks.

Send Email Task

Send  Email Task is used send reminder email to the client to share any reminders, notes, or updates. To setup an email task 

  1. Pick Send Email from the drop-down menu. 
  2. Name the task according to the action it serves.
  3. Enter the details on the receiver, email subject, and content.
  4. Click Save to add the task to Infoveave.

Send Email Attachment Task

Send  Email Attachment Task is used send attachment email to the client. To setup the task 

  1. Pick Send Email Attachment from the drop-down menu. 
  2. Name the task according to the action it serves.
  3. Enter the details on the receiver, email subject, content, and attachment sheet details .
  4. Click Save to add the task to Infoveave.

Priming Task

Infoveave offers a Priming task that helps you to invoke tasks or actions to preload the data from the datasource or databases connected to Infoveave. After clearing the cache, you can preload any queries, widgets or Infoboards to reduce the loading time.

  1. After selecting priming option as task, enter the task name.
    • Key column listed all components which are applicable for priming task are mentioned in the table.
    • Value column in the table defines the status of the keys.
  1. Select widgets from their respective drop-down list.
  2. Select Start Date and End Date which will be applied on widgets selected by you.
  3. Click Save to create priming as a task.

In Priming task, Infoboards and run for all users values are set to true by default.

  1. After saving priming task, click Execute  to start executing the priming task. Execute dialog will be displayed which shows all keys and their values set previously while creating a task.
  1. Click Execute to start priming task.

Clean Cache Task

This task clears the cached values of frequently used or updated datasources.We use this when data has old files and especially when a new set of  data is updated.

  1. Select Clean Cache from the drop-down list.
  2. Name the task in accordance with the datasource you wish to choose. 
  3. Select the datasource from the respective drop-down whose cache you want to delete.
  4. After selecting the datasource, click on Save to add the task.
  1. Click Execute  to execute the task. After clicking on execute, dialog box is displayed and click on Execute to start running the task.
    • You will receive notification once task will start, after finishing task another notification will displayed with summary status.
