File Management Task

Multiple file management automation tasks can be configured using Infoveave. For instance, in Infoveave you can we can configure scheduled tasks to to complete specific actions, such FTP, SFTP, PDF extract, split PDF, merge excel , file rename, S3 upload & download to satisfy or match a specific criterion. You may even create custom task on a specific set of files to perform arbitrary actions as required.

The file management tasks that Infoveave supports in general are:

How to set a file management task

  1. To create any file management task select Task from Automation Tasks .
  2. Click New to setup a new task.  
  1. Pick the file management task you like to instate, from the drop-down list.

How to build the different file management tasks is covered in the section below.

You may configure the task setting either as a plain text or in JSON format.

FTP/SFTP Task

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Tasks are used for various file and folder activities. This section covers how to create FTP/SFTP.

    • In case of FTP task, select source type as FTP or FTPS from drop-down list. Whereas in case of SFTP task, pick SFTP as source type.
  1. Enter the task name  in the name string.
  2. Select Task name, Host, Port, Username, Password, Working directory, Regx to configure it.
  3. Before previewing the data from a server, select the period for which you want to access the data. Select your priority from the given drop-down list.
    • Click Test to see preview the file listing.
  1. Click Save to save FTP / SFTP task. It will display all other types of existing tasks.

For FTP and SFTP task, Infoveave set the port to 21 and 22 respectively.

Data Upload

Data Upload Task is used to upload a task related to a datasource in Infoveave. This tool uploads the supported filetype directly to the table available in the datasource in Infoveave.

  1. In case of upload data task, Select task name with datasource, tables from existing available drop-down list.
  2. Click Save to save configuration of Data download task. It will display all other types of existing tasks.

The data upload task must be linked with any data download task like S3 download, or Azure download.

PDF Extract

Infoveave uses the PDF extract task  to retrieve data from PDF which are available in a specific format.

  1. In case of PDF extract, select task name and upload the .pdf file for analysis.
  2. Click  Add Area and select area by dragging the cursor in pdf. After selecting area, Infoveave will display options to define a template:
    • Vertical Marker: used to draw vertical lines on the pdf to separate the different values.
    • Horizontal Marker: used to draw horizontal lines on the pdf to separate the different values.
    • Vertical Orientation: used to read data based on vertical ways.
    • Horizontal Orientation: used to read data based on horizontal ways.
    • Has Header: used to specify the first column is header or not.
    • Delete Area: used to delete the selected area.
  1. Click of RegEx Extractor to configure the RegEx name, the RegEx and the Data Index.
  1. Click Preview to preview sample data on the basis of template configure by you. After clicking preview, preview dialog box will open with sample data.
    • Under Preview you can add extra columns as required.

Split PDF

The task assist in splitting the PDF file with reference to a start page and an end page.

  1. Choose Split PDF as the task from the drop-down and name the task.
  2. Define the Start page and the End page of the PDF file.
  3. Click Save to save the task.

File Rename

The file rename task help you to rename your file.

  1. Choose File Rename as the task from the drop-down and name the task.
  2. Configure the file name pattern and the extension.
  3. Click Save to save the task.

S3 Upload and Azure Upload Task

Infoveave can help you to create automated tasks to upload data to Amazon S3 cloud storage or to Azure cloud storage with minimum interfaces from your side.  

S3 Upload

To create an automated task to upload the data to the Amazon S3 cloud services, select S3 upload from the drop-down menu.

  1.  Configure the Region, Bucket Name, Access Key, Secret Key, Working Directory, File name and File Type.
  2. Click Save.

Azure Upload

To create an automated task to upload the data to the Amazon Azure cloud services, select Azure upload from the drop-down menu.

  1.  Configure the Default Endpoint Protocol, Account Name, Endpoint Suffix, Account Key, Container Name, Working Directory, File name and File Type.
  2. Click Save.

S3 Download and Azure Download Task

Infoveave can help you to create automated tasks to download data from Amazon S3 cloud storage or from Azure cloud storage with minimum interfaces from your side.  

S3 Download

To create an automated task to download the data from the Amazon S3 cloud services, select S3 download from the drop-down menu.

  1.  Configure the Region, Bucket Name, Access Key, Secret Key, Regular Expression Working Directory, Get Files For, File name and File Type.
  2. Click Test to see preview the file listing.
  3. Click Save.

Azure Download

To create an automated task to download the data from Amazon Azure cloud services, select Azure dowmload from the drop-down menu.

  1.  Configure the Default Endpoint Protocol, Account Name, Endpoint Suffix, Account Key, Container Name, Working Directory, File name and File Type.
  2. Click Save.
