Overview
Infoveave allows you to set alerts for the targets and thresholds you have created based on datasource and its dimensions. The Special Feature in Infoveave allows us to add a task or jobs, which will be executed when target and thresholds meets the specified condition.
You can also set alerts for your IoT datasource by specifying custom rules on the data being received in real-time. You can set up rules based on absolute values or aggregated values (overtime or events) being greater than or lesser than a target.
Setup Target & Threshold Alert
Steps to setup a target and threshold alert
- Infoveave set up four Alerts, for every Target and Threshold, to access the alerts, click on Automation Alerts .
-
- All Alerts, created by you or shared with you will be displayed under the tabs “My Alerts” and “Shared Alerts” respectively.
- Use the search option to look for any existing Alerts.
- Use the Filter by Datasource option to filter the Alerts based on the Datasource.
- To switch the view between Card View and List View, click on the respective icons near to the search bar.
- To create a New Folder in the Alerts, click on the Folder icon.
- To download the list of all existing Alerts, click on the Download icon. It delivers the details on (• Entity Id Name • Description • Content Tags • Created By • Created By User • Created On • Folder • Datasource Id • Datasource Name • Is Folder Public)
- Creating a new alert is only available for an IOT Datasource

- By default, all Target and Thresholds Alerts are disabled.
- To activate or deactivate an alert, click on “Change Status” and choose the desired option.
- To configure/customize the alert message, select a relational operator from the drop-down list, and choose the notification type click on “Edit” .
Update the “Alert Message” field with the desired message. This message will be displayed when the condition set in the alert is met.
Select a “Relational Operator” from the dropdown menu to define the relationship between the measure and the alert rule. For example, greater than, less than, equal to, etc.
Under “Notification Type,” choose the desired type notifications type for the alert. This includes success, error, information, and warning.
- You cannot change the Alert Name, Datasource, Alert Rule Type and Type for Alerts created from Targets and Thresholds.

- To add a new action for the alert, click on “Add Action.” This will allow you to select either a specific task or a job to be initiated when the alert is triggered.
- If you want the selected task or job to be executed automatically when the alert condition is met, enable the “Is Automated” checkbox.
- Once you have made all the desired changes, click “Save” to apply the updated settings to the alert.

Setup IoT Alerts
Steps to setup an IoT alert
- Before creating an IoT alert, it is essential to have an IoT Datasource in place.
- Click on “New Alerts” to begin creating a new IoT alert.
- Fill in the required fields for the alert:
- Alert Name: Provide a descriptive name for the alert.
- Alert Message: Enter the message that will be displayed when the alert condition is met.
- Datasource: Select the IoT Datasource to which the alert will be applied.
- Dimensions: Choose the dimensions that the alert will be based on. (Note: The dimension and add rule button will only appear after selecting the datasource.)
- Click on “Add Rule” to define the specific conditions for the alert:
- Measure: Select the measure that will be used in the alert.
- Alert Rule Type: Choose from options like value, difference, % difference, last N events, last N minutes, aggregate of last N events, or aggregate of last N minutes.
- Relational Operator: Pick a relational operator such as greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, equal to, in between, or not equal to. (Note: Define the value based on the selected relational operator.)
- Additional Fields (based on Rule Type): If you choose last N events or last N minutes, you will have extra fields to define the N value. For aggregate of last N events and aggregate of last N minutes, you will also need to select the aggregator.
- Add Dimensional Filters (Optional):
- Click on “Add Filter” to include dimensional filters for more specificity.
- Select the dimension you want to filter on.
- Choose from conditional filters like “are,” “are not,” “in,” or “not in,” and define the specific dimension value.
- Click on “Add Action” to specify the action to be taken when the alert condition is met:
- Choose between a task or job from the drop-down menu.
- Select the desired task or job from the list.
- To automatically execute the selected task or job when the alert condition is met, enable the “Is Automated” checkbox.
- Click on Delete , if you want to delete any actions or rules defined.
- Click “Save” to save the new IoT alert configuration.
